Our Services
At Skills and Support Occupational Therapy, we offer a wide range of Occupational Therapy services to assist our clients to achieve their goals, and we specialise in the following:
skill development support
We are experienced at assessing motor and processing skills, and developing programs to support skill development in these areas. To further facilitate learning and generalisation of skill development, we also work closely with carers to identify strategies that fit within the family or care routine. By doing so, we increase practice opportunities outside of Occupational Therapy appointments to increase the likelihood of goals being achieved. Examples of this can include:
identifying necessary household tasks that support skill development (cooking, cleaning, errands etc)
modifying games/leisure activities to incorporate the targeted skill
developing visual routines to support independence with daily routines
Functional assessment/Supported Independent living (sil) Assessment
Our Occupational Therapists have extensive experience in assessing a person’s functional skills across their daily routine, and supporting people to identify goals or future support needs.
If applying for Supported Independent Living (SIL) funding from the NDIS, a report from an Occupational Therapist may be required to support the application and assist the NDIS in identifying and costing a person’s support needs in their new accommodation.
eQUIPMENT PRESCRIPTION (Assistive Technology)
Our Occupational Therapists have experience prescribing the following types of equipment:
manual wheelchairs
self-care aids (including shower chairs and commodes)
hoists and slings
beds and pressure care mattresses
As part of the prescription of these pieces of equipment, our Occupational Therapists also provide training and support to ensure that clients and their carers feel comfortable using the equipment.
Please Note: We are not currently able to offer Driving Assessments or Home Modification Assessments.
If you require these services, you can search for a local provider specialising in these areas on the Occupational Therapy Australia website
